<p>Mive Eco and HUG Engineering announce the agreement with the Azimut|Benetti Group for the installation of exhaust systems complete with SCR in accordance with the new IMO Tier III regulation.</p>&#13;

<p>The Azimut Benetti Group, world leader in the production of super yachts, is the first company in the nautical sector to have signed an agreement with Mive Eco for the supply of exhaust systems equipped with the SCR system for the reduction of harmful emissions generated by propulsion. Mive Eco, a company already world leader in the production of exhaust gas systems, starting this year will integrate its systems with the SCR systems of Hug Engineering, a company also a leader in its market segment.</p>&#13;

<p>An agreement with the world&#8217;s leading manufacturer of super yachts which is set up as a real innovation for the sector. In fact, the collaboration with two excellences such as Mive Eco and Hug Engineering will allow Azimut Benetti to guarantee the possibility of purchasing a &#8220;low emission&#8221; version for its models over 24 metres.</p>&#13;

<p>Mive Eco has integrated this latest generation SCR into its plants, offering Azimut Benetti a complete system of all connection pipes, risers, support structures and highly performing insulation in order to guarantee perfect operation, compliance with back pressure, surface temperature on the components and the safety of the yacht, despite the limited space available.</p>&#13;
<p>The need is to meet the limit level for NOx emissions defined by IMO as &#8220;Tier III&#8221; which, starting from 2021, has been extended to yachts of less than 500 gross tonnage and longer than 24 meters, and has become a mandatory requirement to navigate in ECAs (Controlled Emissions Areas).</p>&#13;
<p>Years before the entry into force of the new emission limits, Azimut-Benetti had asked its supplier of exhaust lines Mive Eco to integrate an &#8220;SCR&#8221; in the engine room for at least 8 yacht models, without any reduction of the areas habitable space or garage volume and impact on engine power.</p>&#13;
<p>Mive Eco had taken up the challenge by involving Hug Engineering, its historical partner, which has been supplying its best-in-class products to the main shipyards in the European area since 2016, when the IMO TIER III emissions standard had entered into force for all yachts over 500 gross tonnage.</p>&#13;
<p>Mive Eco reworked its exhaust systems and simultaneously Hug Engineering finalized the development of a completely new “CCV” (Cordierite Coated Vanadium) catalyst, which, after 3 years of laboratory and bench tests, was “deliberated” managing to meet performance targets in the limited space of an engine room.</p>&#13;
<p>La seconda sfida, dopo quella catalitica, è stata quella di individuare il “sistema” in grado di adattarsi all’ingombro del motore, in meno di 50cm di altezza, resistendo ad elevate sollecitazioni meccaniche dovute a velocità superiori a 30 kn e a temperature fino a 500°C.</p>&#13;
<p>Mive Eco and Hug after months of studies have developed the first versions of exhaust gas systems integrated with compact SCR suitable for yachts over 24 meters and under 500 GT.</p>&#13;
<p>Once it was understood that the system could work properly, Hug Engineering started the certification process in order to obtain an EAPP certificate compliant with the IMO TIER III standard based on the IMO Tier II engine. In this way it is possible to use SCR in the ECA area and possibly use the Tier II version engine in areas where it is not yet easy to refuel AdBlue (Urea) on board.</p>&#13;
<p>To date it is possible to state that the joint efforts undertaken between 2020 and 2021 by the three companies involved, Azimut Benetti, Mive Eco and Hug Engineering, have made it possible to achieve the objective of having a feasible solution both technically and commercially, which can be immediately offered to any customer interested in buying an ecological yacht, having full freedom to sail anywhere in the world and being able to count on the full value of the vessel at the time of resale.</p>&#13;

<p>O Grupo Azimut Benetti, líder mundial na produção de superiates, é a primeira empresa do sector náutico a assinar um acordo com a Mive Eco para o fornecimento de sistemas de escape equipados com o sistema SCR para a redução das emissões nocivas geradas pela propulsão. A Mive Eco, empresa já líder mundial na produção de sistemas de gases de escape, vai integrar a partir deste ano os seus sistemas com os sistemas SCR da Hug Engineering, empresa também líder no seu segmento de mercado.</p>&#13;

De facto, a colaboração com duas excelências como a Mive Eco e a Hug Engineering permitirá à Azimut Benetti garantir a possibilidade de adquirir uma versão de &#8220;baixa emissão&#8221; para os seus modelos com mais de 24 metros.</p>&#13;

<p>A Mive Eco integrou este SCR de última geração nas suas instalações, oferecendo à Azimut Benetti um sistema completo de todos os tubos de ligação, risers, estruturas de suporte e isolamento de alto desempenho para garantir o funcionamento perfeito, o cumprimento da contrapressão, a temperatura da superfície dos componentes e a segurança do iate, apesar do espaço limitado disponível.</p>&#13;
<p>A necessidade é de cumprir o nível limite de emissões de NOx definido pela IMO como &#8220;Nível III&#8221;, que, a partir de 2021, foi alargado a iates com menos de 500 toneladas de arqueação bruta e mais de 24 metros, e passou a ser um requisito obrigatório para navegar em ECAs (Controlado de Emissões Áreas).</p>&#13;
<p>Anos antes da entrada em vigor dos novos limites de emissões, a Azimut-Benetti solicitou ao seu fornecedor de linhas de escape, a Mive Eco, a integração de um &#8220;SCR&#8221; na casa das máquinas de, pelo menos, 8 modelos de iates, sem qualquer redução do espaço habitável da área ou do volume da garagem, nem impacto na potência do motor.</p>&#13;
<p>A Mive Eco aceitou o desafio que envolveu a Hug Engineering, o seu parceiro histórico, que fornece os seus produtos de primeira linha aos principais estaleiros da Europa desde 2016, quando a norma de emissões IMO TIER III entrou em vigor para todos os iates com arqueação bruta superior a 500 toneladas.</p>&#13;
<p>A Mive Eco reformulou os seus sistemas de escape e, simultaneamente, a Hug Engineering finalizou o desenvolvimento de um catalisador &#8220;CCV&#8221; (Cordierite Coated Vanadium) completamente novo, que, após 3 anos de testes em laboratório e em bancada, foi &#8220;deliberadamente&#8221; capaz de atingir as metas de desempenho no espaço limitado de uma casa das máquinas.</p>&#13;

<p>Mive Eco e Hug após meses de estudos desenvolveram as primeiras versões de sistemas de gases de escape integrados com SCR compacto adequado para iates com mais de 24 metros e menos de 500 GT.</p>&#13;
<p>Uma vez entendido que o sistema poderia funcionar corretamente, a Hug Engineering iniciou o processo de certificação para obter um certificado EAPP compatível com a norma IMO TIER III baseada no motor IMO Tier II. Desta forma, é possível utilizar o SCR na área da ECA e, possivelmente, utilizar o motor da versão Tier II em áreas onde ainda não é fácil reabastecer AdBlue (Ureia) a bordo.</p>&#13;
<p>Até ao momento, é possível afirmar que os esforços conjuntos empreendidos entre 2020 e 2021 pelas três empresas envolvidas, Azimut Benetti, Mive Eco e Hug Engineering, permitiram atingir o objetivo de ter uma solução viável tanto a nível técnico como comercial, que pode ser oferecida de imediato a qualquer cliente interessado em comprar um iate ecológico, tendo total liberdade para navegar em qualquer parte do mundo e podendo contar com o valor total da embarcação no momento da revenda.</p>&#13;
